The rapid increase of AI presence in corporate management calls for humanistic leadership. However, research on this type of leadership is still in its infancy. Scholars have yet to reach a consensus on the specific connotations of humanistic leadership or to present solid theories for this type of leadership. Taking the grounded theory approach, we interviewed the CEOs of ten companies that have implemented humanistic management strategies for many years and 39 of their middle and high-level leaders. The results revealed five dimensions of humanistic leadership: self-cultivation and rectifying heart and mind, humanistic care, humanistic education, equality and respect, and work harmoniously with all parties. We also summarize the impact of humanistic leadership on leaders, employees, their families, and the enterprise and then develop a preliminary theoretical model of humanistic leadership.
