Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have reshaped industries by offering unprecedented opportunities for efficiency and innovation. This study investigates the dynamics of trust between employees and employers regarding AI adoption through a comprehensive review of the literature. The literature indicates that job insecurity and concerns about AI replacing human roles exacerbate distrust, while employees value AI's potential to augment tasks when accompanied by adequate training and transparency. Additionally, the ability of AI to mimic human characteristics, such as personhood and emotional intelligence, sparks both curiosity and wariness. Issues of bias in recruitment and decision-making underscore the need for transparent, unbiased AI systems. Lastly, the unpredictable evolution of AI fosters anxiety about its long-term impact on organizational roles and employee well-being. Human Resource Management (HRM) can play a pivotal role in mitigating concerns and ensuring smooth adoption by addressing transparency, fairness, and alignment with employee values.
