This study aims to enhance the conceptual clarity of various non-traditional work arrangements, distinct from the traditional face-to-face work mode, and to outline the principal topics and research themes that have been studied in academic silos. This study conducted a systematic review of articles indexed in SSCI and Scopus from 2017 to 2023 to examine different types of work arrangements. The analysis identified six categories: remote work, virtual work, work from home, flexible work arrangements, telework, and hybrid work. Based on this analysis, we defined new work experiences brought by these work arrangements and identified their outcomes and enablers. This study concludes by proposing how HR should contribute to maximizing the effect of the enablers to promote positive employee outcomes.
