Gratitude functions as a social bond that disseminates through socialisation, facilitating the development of relationships and community. Gratitude possesses ethical dimensions. There is a deficiency of research on gratitude from indigenous perspectives. This study enhances indigenous literature by introducing the concept of kRtajJatA from India. kRtajJatA refers to the sentiment of gratitude expressed by a beneficiary towards a benefactor in India. Individuals exhibit kRtajJatA even towards those who have passed away or relocated, as demonstrated in social gatherings. The discussion of kRtajJatA is anticipated to enhance the literature in global psychology and management.
