11447: The Annual Behavioral Ethics Pecha Kucha Springboard and Networking Session

Much current behavioral business ethics research focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of (un)ethical behavior within organizations. But a critical theoretical and practically important question is what organizations can do to ensure that employees behave (more) ethically. With the goal of developing and generating future scholarship, this PDW showcases frontiers in behavioral ethics research. The theme this year is “ethical interventions in organizations,” and this ninth rendition of the PDW will see the session expand to four hours. We will begin with a 90- minute paper development workshop where 30 pre-registered individuals are welcomed to bring their research models to discuss with experts at roundtables. The remainder of the PDW will be open to all Academy attendees. Starting around the 90-minute mark we will host our traditional eight Pecha Kuchas (5-minute timed presentations), by seven scholars and one practitioner, who will outline their ideas to extend both micro and macro ethics research through ethical interventions. Topics will include interventions to improve ethics by focusing on mindfulness, gratitude, leadership development, language and framing, moral character, and humility, among others. These presentations will be followed by a plenary discussion. The final hour of the session will be a networking reception where PDW attendees can foster connections and engage in conversations with experts and each other on these and other behavioral ethics topics.

Registration for the paper development part of the PDW (first 90 minutes) is capped at 30 and open to doctoral students only, plus perhaps some new assistant professors if space permits. Doctoral students will, however, be prioritized. You will only need to bring a research model, no paper submissions required. Please use this link to register.
