This workshop discusses the integration of the Business Model Canvas and Design Thinking Canvas as complementary tools in entrepreneurship. The BMC has proven valuable in helping organisations document and develop business models through key elements like value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances. Meanwhile, design thinking is increasingly recognised as crucial for entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in addressing sustainable development and preparing new ventures for complex environments. This 90-mn PDW explores the idea of merging the BMC with the DTC through hands-on activities, to create a comprehensive framework that combines business viability with user desirability, emphasising human-centered and sustainable approaches. Participants work in teams to merge the two canvases using both AI tools and physical materials like LEGO bricks. The workshop aims to understand how those interested in specialised in entrepreneurship adapt these tools and integrate design thinking into business model development. Expected outcomes include participants confronting their views with AI-generated insights, exploring three- dimensional representations of traditionally 2D canvases, and discussing the viability of integrating design thinking into business model preparation. The workshop concludes with an invitation to form a Creative Intelligence in Entrepreneurship group.
Places are very limited, pre-registration is mandatory. Since we will be using AI tools during the first part of the workshop, participants ought to bring their own devices with a connection to the Internet (laptops, tablets, phones, etc).
