Join us for this special event: a tour of the the Medical Museion. The Museion is a university museum that examines and collects medical science and health, through the lens of history, culture, and art. The Museion connects the public to researchers and other professions through imaginative exhibitions, events, conversations, as well as its own investigations. In this PDW, you will experience a guided tour that deepens understanding of bodies and minds, health and its contexts; and ultimately, how to enrich people’s lives. The Museion hosts a collection of objects, mostly reflecting Danish medical history, with great technical and cultural significance. Its artefacts include human bodies, and ‘bodies’ of knowledge and of work. The Museion is part of the Public Health Department in the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, but reaches across the humanities and arts.
This guided tour is free for participants thanks to the generosity of sponsors from Copenhagen Business School. There will be two tour groups (25 people max per group). We encourage registration by June 15 for planning purposes and will accept registrants until all spots are filled. You will receive an email to confirm your registration status within a week of form completion. Attendees are expected to travel to the Medicinsk Museion (Bredgade 62, 1260 København) via their own means. Please arrive by 4:20 PM because our one-hour guided tours begin at 4:30 PM. We will maintain a waitlist for the tour and use it to allow as many people to attend as possible within the capacity limit. Note that the Medicinsk Museion is next door to the Design Museum, where an HCM spotlight PDW #23977 (Is Quality Improvement Enough? Why We Also Need Methods for Deep, Profound Change in Healthcare), will be held prior to this tour (2:45-4:00 PM).
