The case method has become more relevant than ever in today’s educational landscape. It provides a dynamic, participant-centred approach to learning that encourages active engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving. By presenting real-world scenarios, it helps students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making it especially valuable in tackling complex issues such as sustainability. As business schools worldwide increasingly prioritise the integration of sustainability into their curricula, the case method is as an essential tool for developing the skills needed to navigate today’s rapidly changing global landscape. In this PDW, three presenters will speak about these issues. The three speakers are: • Vicky Lester, CEO of The Case Centre, on how the charity’s efforts to promote sustainability-focused case teaching materials is preparing students for leadership roles that prioritises: people, planet, and profit. • Meredith Storey, Doctor at PRME, on PRME’s Pedagogical Framework. • Heather Cairns-Lee, Affiliate Professor at IMD, on the practicalities of writing sustainability cases and teaching notes.
