In an era defined by globalization and technological advancements, business students must develop skills that prepare them to excel in an interconnected workforce. This initiative focuses on developing intercultural competence as its primary goal, alongside teamwork skills as a secondary goal, using Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) as a dynamic and inclusive method. Conducted over two consecutive years between universities in Chile and the USA, this project leveraged active-learning, project-based approaches within multicultural virtual teams to foster essential workforce skills. This intervention offers a practical alternative to traditional immersive experiences, addressing barriers such as travel limitations and financial constraints. By exploring challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned, this submission provides insights and best practices for advancing global competencies and inclusivity in education. Furthermore, it emphasizes and facilitates the creation of a network to help educators overcome one of the most significant challenges in implementing COIL: finding collaboration partners.
