Generative AI (GenAI) has transformed both the teaching of management, but also the skills required of business professionals. More broadly, digital transformation (DT) integrates digital technology throughout organizations, fundamentally changing operations. While DT is technology-driven, successfully transformed organizations require employees (our students) to understand how technology influences behavior and how behavior influences technology. In this session, we show how we re-developed a core Organizational Behavior course to teach foundational management and organizational behavioral topics within the context of DT, and to incorporate teaching critical thinking skills that our students need for the generative AI era. We share our re-development strategies and critical course materials, demonstrate a sample class activity, and report on key tensions we encountered in delivering the course, as well as adjustments that we made between first and second semesters.
This session is part of the Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC@AOM). Space is limited; separate complimentary TLC@AOM pre-registration on a first-come, first-served basis is required. The TLC@AOM registration deadline is 27 July 2025, unless sold out. Register for TLC@AOM.
