The finalists for the IM division’s Best Dissertation Award will introduce their work. The committee for the IM Division D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University Award for the Best Dissertation in International Management has selected the following five finalists for this year’s award (in alphabetical order):

• Si (Coco) Cheng (Copenhagen Business School), “Navigating the institutional environment: How geopolitical and legal changes affect firm assessment and strategy”, Ph.D. granted by ESSEC, supervised by Srividya Jandhyala.
• Hyewon Ma (Indiana University), “When and how do multinational enterprises (MNEs) seek and exploit strategic flexibility?”, Ph.D. granted by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, supervised by Joseph Clougherty.
• Deepak Nayak (Ohio State University), “From borders to breakthroughs: How immigrations laws shape technological progress”, Ph.D. granted by Temple University, supervised by Ram Mudambi.
• Alexander Rustler (University of Oxford), “The dark side of legitimacy: How (not) to manage complex legitimation processes”, Ph.D. granted by University of Oxford, supervised by Daniel Armanios.
• Yannick Wiessner (Nova School of Business and Economics), “The societal impact of multinational organizations”, Ph.D. granted by the RSM Erasmus University, supervised by Pursey Heugens.
