Greater entrepreneurial activity is the goal of many government policies around the world. This systematic literature review explores over 150 published articles in top management and entrepreneurship journals to explore the effect of government policies on entrepreneurial activities. Our integrative review outlines theories, methodologies, and findings in the current literature. We then highlight the key gaps, and outlines a detailed future research agenda to investigate these important questions.
