This paper explores the role of spiritual approaches in human resources management (HRM) to improve well-being at work. By anchoring this research in both philosophical traditions and management science, we highlight how spirituality can help give meaning to work and promote employees’ quality of life at work. The first part of the article examines the integration of spirituality in HRM. It allows us to identify three main approaches to the spiritual question in HRM: managing religious issues in organizations, promoting the concept of spirituality at work as a human development and organizational performance factor and inquiring on the philosophical-spiritual foundations in the value of work. In the second part, a conceptual methodology is adopted to clarify notions of spirituality and propose theoretical and actionable contributions. Among these proposals is the innovative concept of “Spiritual Well-Being at Work”, an extension of the hedonistic and eudemonic models of well-being at work. Practical implications include recommendations for spiritual leadership and strategies tailored to the spiritual needs of individuals.
