This study examines the foundational dimensions of Organizational Resilience (OR) through the application of the Ontology, Epistemology, Axiology (OEA) Framework and an AI-assisted review methodology. By addressing three core questions—Who is related to OR? What can be known about them? How can one know about them?—we seek to clarify key assumptions underpinning OR. Using a dataset of over 11,000 full-text articles from Academy of Management journals, we systematically analyzed the ontological and epistemological aspects of organizational resilience, including the identification of those related to resilience. Our research demonstrates the utility of large language models (LLMs) in synthesizing extensive textual data, offering a novel approach to uncovering latent assumptions and advancing theoretical clarity. While the study emphasizes ontology and epistemology, it highlights the need for further exploration of OR’s axiological dimensions. These findings provide actionable insights for researchers, managers, consultants, and educators, bridging theoretical development with practical application. The study concludes with recommendations for extending the application of the OEA Framework, refining AI-assisted methodologies, and exploring OR’s multidimensional nature in future research.
