Management consulting plays a key role in the functioning and evolution of modern organizations. However, this importance is accompanied by criticism, particularly with regard to lack of scientific rigor, efficiency biases and possible negative repercussions on employees and society. Hence, there is a need to move to a more scientific approach to management consulting. This paper is advocating for a scientific approach to management consulting inspired by experimental medical research. It is illustrated by the case of Qualimetrics Intervention-Research as it enabled the development of a body of information going by the name of Socio-Economic Approach to Management, a systemic and scientific approach to management consulting.
