Leveraging social capital theory, this study investigates how entrepreneurs access and derive value from digital networks when discussing mental health concerns. Analyzing two major entrepreneurial communities on Reddit, we employ an innovative methodological approach combining network analysis and an engagement metrics to examine social capital dimensions. Our analysis reveals that mental health topics generate higher engagement compared to general wellbeing discussions, indicating the heightened relevance and urgency of mental health issues within entrepreneurial communities. Network analysis shows that communities can simultaneously exhibit both bonding and bridging characteristics, highlighting how network structures enable distinct forms of resource access and value creation within each community. Our findings underscore the importance of digital platforms as supportive environments, demonstrating their benefits even in the presence of weak ties and providing deeper insights into how various network configurations influence community dynamics. These insights contribute to understanding digital community dynamics comprehensively, providing practical implications for platform designers and mental health professionals promoting supportive networks.
