Over the past decade, impact entrepreneurship—encompassing social and sustainable entrepreneurship—has garnered significant research attention, highlighting its growth and potential for societal change. Nevertheless, failure plays an important role in impact ventures. Although significant, it remains an understudied area of research. This study uses topic modeling and a systematic literature review to identify failure dynamics within impact entrepreneurship. Using a comprehensive framework, existing research is structured, and an integrative model is developed to (1) identify distinct types of failure and their influence on impact entrepreneurship, (2) categorize research levels (organizational, societal, individual), and (3) propose a future research agenda.
