Mature entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) are assumed to be self-sustaining and less receptive to interventions that can alter their evolutionary dynamics. We show that even in such context, new (and more productive) venturing behaviors can still emerge through the coordinated efforts of intermediaries to foster a diverse and supportive network around systemic venture development challenges. We illustrate this process through an in-depth case study set in the Swedish context, tracing the emergence of two entrepreneurial support intermediaries created to address the growing fragmentation within the ecosystem and foster local scaling opportunities for its startups. The findings emphasize the evolving role of entrepreneurial support in mature ecosystems, shifting from the development of the foundational networks and resource infrastructure to actively shaping new behavioral patterns among stakeholders.
