Given the increasing interest in the mental health implications of meaningful work, this workshop aims to explore new directions for research at the intersection of these important topics. To accomplish this, we will bring together leading scholars with expertise in the areas of meaningful work, mental health, or both for discussions of their own research, where the field has been, and future directions to make impactful contributions to the literature. The goals of this professional development workshop (PDW) are threefold: (1) provide current perspectives on meaningful work and mental health; (2) share ideas and develop new research at this crucial theoretical intersection; and (3) build a community of scholars who are engaged in theoretical and empirical research on meaningful work and mental health. Through an interactive panel discussion with leading experts in the field, roundtables for participants to engage in thoughtful discussions and receive feedback on ongoing research projects on meaningful work and mental health, and group takeaways and discussion, we seek to build a community of scholars committed to advancing scholarship in this critical area.
