Science across all disciplines is increasingly conducted by teams of researchers – in fact, there is a “science of team science” subfield that has emerged as a result. In this boundary-spanning Professional Development Workshop (PDW), we will present brief introductory talks that provide context as well as varied use-cases for “Team Science” in Management Research research; solicit thoughts from each PDW attendee; cultivate discussion through a set of well-organized roundtables; and, integrate report-backs from the roundtables. While acknowledging limitations, concerns, and challenges associated with conducting Team Science (e.g., mega-studies, crowdsourced research, and massive meta-analyses) in Management Research, the PDW will focus constructively on ways that individuals and institutions can better navigate both the risks and rewards of collaborating with others to address important research problems.
