This PDW aims to equip participants with concrete guidelines on how to write better, and how to enlist AI to that purpose. Writing is integral to the scientific process and poor writing is a disservice to the scholarly community. This interactive PDW will identify common causes of poor writing and provide strategies to eliminate them, leveraging AI for editorial support. Through hands-on exercises, participants will learn how to write with more clarity, expressive power, and coherence. We will review how to prompt AI to enhance our writing, but also the dangers of blind reliance on AI. By the end of the workshop, participants will have an understanding of common pitfalls in writing, a checklist of steps they can take to avoid those pitfalls their own writing, and a critical appreciation of how to use AI as editorial assistant.
