This is an updated PDW on methodological best practices, given the success of its predecessor at the AOM 2024 meetings in Chicago. Registration was not required, but about 160 people did so, and more than 110 were in attendance (packed Swissotel-Lucerne III ballroom, with people standing in the back). This PDW covers the entire research process from the beginning (i.e., generating and testing theory) to the end (i.e., enhancing research impact). It is helpful for (a) research producers and (b) research consumers, including doctoral students, junior and senior researchers, and journal editors and reviewers. It includes checklists, tables, flowcharts, “how-to,” and “dos and don’ts” guidelines so participants can understand the extent to which methodological best practices are being followed—and so that they can follow best practices in their own research and evaluate the research by others.
