The session description should read: We are planning a DEI junior faculty consortium and a mentor-match. The 2025 junior faculty consortium will include a diverse mix of speaker panels and participative roundtable discussions designed to provide junior faculty with a realistic, open, and honest understanding of how to build a research identity, navigate a career post Ph.D., and bring their ideas to publication in academic journals. For 2025 the consortium's theme will center on supporting junior faculty in facing risks and challenges when engaging in DEI work in the early stages of their career. In light of the recent global decline in DEI efforts, the PDW as a whole will center on providing practical strategies for navigating risks, building a sustainable academic career, and fostering impactful DEI scholarship. Participants will also have the opportunity for more personalized connections and feedback through a mentor-match to be held after the consortium (or at another mutually agreed upon time), in which participants are paired with a scholar based on the participant's research interests. Participants are required to apply for the junior faculty consortium by June 15th and to register for the JFC after acceptance. Please send your CV to Katina Sawyer (katinasawyer@arizona.edu) and to Keimei Sugiyama (sugiyamk@uwm.edu) in order to apply. Junior faculty participants must be members of the DEI Division. Day of registration is not available. Participants must take part in the entire JFC and are encouraged to avoid double-booking themselves in other PDWs.
