This Professional Development Workshop (PDW) explores how performativity theory can advance our understanding of management and organizations. Building on recent developments in performativity research, the workshop brings together leading scholars to examine how theories and models shape organizational reality and practice. Through presentations and interactive discussions, participants will explore how performativity perspectives can inform research across different domains including technology, markets, and organizational practices. The PDW features presentations from distinguished scholars including Samer Faraj, Laure Cabantous, Joel Gehman, and Daniel Beunza, who will share insights from their research and facilitate discussions on applying performativity theory to management scholarship. The workshop aims to help participants develop research applications using performativity perspectives while building connections across theoretical domains.
