Dignity is a topic of growing significance in management scholarship with critical applications for practice and education. It is a foundational concept for humanistic and responsible management, reminding us of the importance of recognizing the inherent worth and value of every human being, as well as all living beings and systems on our planet. This topic has implications for understanding and addressing a multitude of social issues surrounding the topics of inequalities and polarization, environmental justice and sustainability, AI and automation, inclusive economy, and the future of business education. In this PDW, we aim to gather a community of scholars, practitioners, and educators, working on the topic of dignity to learn about and co-create an agenda for the future of dignity-based organizing to address key social issues. Participants will learn about diverse viewpoints from leading experts in this field and engage in rapid ideation sessions to co-create the future of dignity research and practice. Through community-building activities, this PDW will also aim to create a lasting community of practice to build future collaborations.
