Twin Transition, i.e., the ideal of a synergistic integration of digital and green transitions, are increasingly seen as a critical strategic component for addressing the climate crisis and achieving sustainable development. However, our understanding of Twin Transition is still nascent and challenged by the complexity of the phenomenon itself. Twin Transition raise complex challenges across multiple levels (e.g., individual, group, organizational, societal), domains (e.g., management, ecology, technology, psychology), and stakeholder groups (e.g., academia, business, civil society, government) that should ideally be addressed in an integrated manner. As a first step in unraveling this complexity, the PDW brings together a group of experts that critically examine the opportunities, challenges, and risks associated with Twin Transition from different perspectives. In facilitated discussions, the experts and participants will then explore opportunities and challenges for theoretical integration and inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration, with the goal of building a research community focused on Twin Transition scholarship. Expected outcomes of the PDW include a better understanding of the complexities of Twin Transition, new research collaborations, and a multi-perspective position paper that advances critical discourse in this emerging field. All conference participants are welcome to attend, and no prior registration is required.
We have restricted the number of participants in the PDW to 80, so please make sure that you arrive in time to assure your seat. For any additional questions, please reach out to johan.magnusson@gu.se.
