Societal challenges are globally pervasive yet manifest in locally specific ways. Despite this, management scholarship remains largely dominated by Western perspectives. Addressing the grand societal challenges of our time requires more inclusive research that reflects local perspectives and normative systems. To move beyond the polarized view of Western versus non-Western contexts, it is essential to include diverse voices in our conversations and to embrace contextual diversity, including cultural features, history, languages, and worldviews. This PDW represents a unique opportunity to bridge Western and non-Western perspectives in management and entrepreneurship with the ultimate objective to pave the way for more inclusive research, which is not only globally relevant but also instrumental in advancing local worldviews and indigenous perspectives. To do so, we aim to delve into biases and challenges that Western-centric management conversations face and highlight four sub-literatures in entrepreneurship that have started investigating at typically non-Western phenomena, i.e., informal entrepreneurship, necessity entrepreneurship, indigenous entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship. This dialogue will not only provide a holistic view of current academic discourse but also identify gaps and propose future research priorities to overcome fragmentation and build more inclusive conversations. The format is designed to stimulate thought-provoking conversations among panelists and with the audience.
