Junior Faculty and Doctoral Students Consortium (JFDSC) is designed to primarily facilitate the professional development of junior faculty and doctoral students who are aiming for a successful career as a business/management faculty. Given how well received the consortium has been, we now offer a variation of it to all the AOM attendees who are interested in their professional development as a teacher-scholar and obtain a certificate from MED. We welcome AOM attendees across all divisions interested in the educational remit of their role. As a part of the consortium, participants choose a minimum of three PDWs from a range of professional development workshops (PDWs) offered by the MED division, all designed to support participants’ professional development as a teacher-scholar. This year’s PDW themes include innovative teaching methods & pedagogical approaches, scholarly development & academic careers, AI & emerging technologies in education, curriculum design & program innovation, sustainability & responsible management education, and inclusive education. Additionally, Attendees will participate in this welcome/orientation on Friday, July 25 morning where they get an opportunity to meet and mingle with other participants and the MED leadership team and get oriented to the format of JFDSC and the requirements for its successful completion. The consortium will wrap up with a closing reflection (Program Session 25188) on Monday, July 28 between 4pm-6pm where participants are prompted to share their takeaways from the PDWs they attended and participate in an ethical simulation to understand their responsibility as a management scholar, educator, and practitioner. The goal of these bookend events is to provide participants with a platform to network with each other, create a community, and explore their educator-focused challenges while building their portfolio of expertise through attendance at relevant PDWs. Participants who successfully complete the consortium requirements are awarded a professional development (PD) certificate.
