10881: Creating Shared Value: Collective Orientation Between Entrepreneurs and Their Stakeholders

Creating and maintaining joint value requires entrepreneurs and stakeholders to come to a shared set of beliefs, knowledge, language, and values aimed at what is best for the collective. This can be achieved through a set of means, such as formal relational contract, signaling, framing, ownership stakes and a variety of rhetorical strategies so that participants (e.g. communities, shareholders, stakeholders etc.) align expectations, interests, and adapt a “what’s in it for we” partnership mentality. Although the acknowledgment that joint value production for entrepreneurial ventures is embedded in social and interactive processes between a wide range of stakeholders, is still somewhat at the relative beginning. This PDW seeks to present insights from renowned scholars on the significance of studying joint value creation and to outline prospective research avenues in the field of entrepreneurship. The PDW aims to offer a high-quality learning experience with significant positive impact on the professional development of the participants. Specifically, the PDW focuses on sharing experiences and best practices for research joint-value creation that involves presentations, interactive discussions, and space for participant reflection on these discussions. Given the cross-disciplinarity of the topic, the PDW is likely to be interesting for scholars outside the field of entrepreneurship as well, such as sustainability, tourism, strategy and innovation.
