Contextualization requires researchers and practitioners to consider situational, temporal, and multi-level factors that shape outcomes. However, contextual dimensions are often ignored or overlooked, despite repeated calls to adopt methodological approaches grounded in multi-criteria decision-making to better characterize empirical contexts. This panel symposium aims to engage panelists and audience members in an interactive discussion on heightened sensitivity to context in both theorizing and practice. The discussion will cover the impact of context on management phenomena internationally and the potential for healthcare settings to advance organizational theory development. It fosters further exchange on the topic among HCM, OMT, IM and other divisions within AOM.
