This workshop will introduce the key principles of improvisation theater and demonstrate how they can inspire and support the role of a lecturer. A mindset for teachers inspired by improvisation theater emphasizes flexibility, creativity, and a deep connection with students. Embracing the "Yes, and..." principle, teachers foster an open, supportive environment where ideas are welcomed and built upon. This approach encourages adaptability, allowing educators to pivot and respond dynamically to the unique needs and contributions of each student. Improvisation in the classroom promotes active listening, ensuring that teachers are fully present and engaged, enhancing their ability to connect with and understand their students. By viewing challenges as opportunities for creative problem-solving, teachers can model resilience and a positive attitude towards learning. This mindset transforms the educational experience into a lively, inclusive, and empowering journey, where both teachers and students thrive through mutual respect and imaginative engagement. Vera and Tina will guide participants through these principles using small improv-based exercises, allowing them to experience the concepts firsthand.
