This TLC session aims at sharing with colleagues the interest of Design Fiction (DF) as a pedagogical tool to empower our students with creative, critical thinking and anticipatory skills, required by hiring companies and society as a whole, to face the extensive challenges of our transitioning world. As an introduction, we will briefly review the origins, use, definition, objectives and limits of Design Fiction. We will then engage in an interactive session with participants, for them to experience Design Fiction, understand weak signals’ use and produce a speculative artefact, symbol of a possible future, integrating hints of changes in society, consumption and geopolitics. In conclusion, we will present two curricula based on DF that we developed and experimented, focusing on responsible entrepreneurship in response to future crises: we thereby illustrate how DF can prepare students to develop their perception of complexity, navigate and take decisions in an uncertain world, undergoing profound changes. At the end of the session, participants will have gained an understanding of why and how Design Fiction can be introduced in varied disciplines, programs and contexts, to encourage students generate debates, identify and shape in a creative and responsible way desirable futures, and understand the societal and ethical outcomes of their decisions. We will provide guidelines for implementation in management classes, as Design Fiction is a powerful pedagogical tool to empower future managers on the role, they will be expected to play in the raging battles of the imaginaries.
