The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming organizational workflows, decision-making, and innovation. This poster examines the dual narratives of AI integration: the strategic use of analytical and generative AI to enhance productivity and creativity, and the rise of autonomous AI agents driving adaptive, real-time decision-making. To understand these shifts, two theoretical lenses are explored: the fit lens, which emphasizes alignment with predefined objectives, and the assemblage lens, which focuses on emergent practices and dynamic human-AI interactions. Advocating for the assemblage lens, this poster frames AI as an active agent co-evolving with organizational routines to foster adaptability, innovation, and distributed agency. Applied to project management, this approach seeks to investigate how AI-enabled workflows and emergent practices reshape roles and decision-making. By mapping AI’s integration within socio-technical contexts, the study offers insights for creating flexible, context-sensitive systems that balance technical alignment with dynamic workplace complexities.
