Gender bias in the lending process is a serious concern, especially for female entrepreneurs, as this may influence their access to credits. Artificial Intelligence (AI), as a potential solution, can create a fairer credit evaluation process by reducing human biases. This study investigates female and male entrepreneurs’ preferences (N=197) for AI-based vs. human-based credit evaluation processes. Additionally, it examines how past discrimination experiences influence these preferences. Utilizing the Theory of Justice, we explore perceptions of fairness in different loan evaluation scenarios.
